丽特 DAC-83能不能扳倒三小强:) 三小强这个名字听了好几年了，真有那么强吗？我看未见得。 外国的论坛说比DAC1和DA10好， DA11没有看见对比过。但我比较怀疑，我分不清是不是托来的。 转外国论坛的网友测试。

My New Dac
I recently bought a new DAC - Lite Dac-83. I didn't actually need it - I already have a Lavry DA10, CA Dacmagic, Stello DA100 Signature and modified Lite Dac-Ah for my three systems.
However, I was persuaded to buy this DAC because of an experience with a portable player, the Hifiman 801, an "audiophile" player, which contains parts like the Burr Brown 1704 DAC chip and opa627 op amp. The DAC chip is used in mainly high end DACs and CD players, such as the Naim CD555 and the new Naim DAC, and this is the first time it has ever been used in a portable player. The portable player sounds stunning - it sounds musical and engaging in a way that not only makes an ipod sound like a toy (and a broken one at that) but competes with the DACs I've mentioned above.
I decided I wanted to hear more about DACs using the 1704 chip. I was not prepared to pay CD555 prices, or even Naim DAC prices (and my experiences having owned a CDS2, CDX and CD5 did not lead me to want to own another Naim product), but I discovered the new Lite DAC-83. This uses the 1704 chip, along with a discrete transistor output stage, and an external power supply. As a product available from China through ebay the price is reasonable.
I bought one and it arrived a few days ago. I was prepared for disappointment but the DAC-83 sounds as good as I could have hoped. I have yet to do a full comparison with my other DACs, but A/B-ing between the Stello and the DAC-83 suggests that the latter is clearly superior. The DAC-83 sounds more three dimensional, and more realistic, while maintaining dynamics and a tonally rich sound. Using the DAC-83 with my (also new) Ray Samuels HR-2 headphone amp and Sennheiser HD800 headphones (the intended purpose of the DAC-83 as a separate headphone based system fronted by a Squeezebox), it is the best headphone system I have heard. The next test will be a direct comparison with the Lavry.
Obviously, I have no affiliation with Lite, but so far I am extremely impressed with the DAC-83 and would suggest that anyone looking for an interesting new DAC should take a look at it.
I will try to find some time to do the Lavry comparison during the next week. This system is just so enjoyable to listen to it is hard to get motivated to do these comparisons.
The HD800s, by the way, are astoundingly good headphones. Having owned the HD580s, then 600s, then 650s, as well as Grado SR80, 225, 325s and HP-2s, not to mention Beyer 770s, 880s, 990s and a whole bunch I have probably forgotten, the HD800s are far and away the best headphones I have ever heard.
Steve, for comparison with the HR-2, I also have a Headroom Maxed Out Home (older model), Meier Prehead (original version), Hart Linsley Hood Chiara and World Audio HD83 valve amp; I've owned the Naim Headline/Hicap and have recently sold a Singlepower MPX3. The HR-2 is the best headphone amp I have heard to date - it has the smooth, grainless sound of a valve amp with the dynamics and low noise of solid state. Although the design is a few years old now, and some on head-fi have moved on to other (generally much more expensive) amps, I still think this is a classic design. I also have Ray's SR-71 portable amp, which is in a different league to any other portable amp I've heard.
The DA10 is adequate as a headphone amp but sounds a bit lifeless compared with good standalone amps, especially the HR-2.

A quick update: I have now spent a short amount of time (about half an hour) comparing the Lavry DA-10 with the Lite Dac-83, using my Sennheiser HD800s and Ray Samuels headphone amp. I was surprised by how much better the Dac-83 sounded - it was smoother, airier, richer, and more musical, with a sound I can only describe as "silky". The DA10 sounded a little coarse by comparison and less engaging. Again, this was a short comparison over headphones (even though ultra-revealing headphones), but with this caveat, I remain very impressed with the Lite DAC, which is something of a bargain. lite的东西算国货中不错的，以前用过38s
