We are getting close to a complete Weiss equipment chain - from source electronics to the speakers. Yes, right, we will do a Weiss speaker, planned to be released in 2016!
It will be based on a revolutionary concept which brings the listening experience to a new level of realism. This is not just an incremental, „golden ears only“ change, but a real enhancement which can be heard by all listeners.
The concept is proven and is working well. We now are looking for people who are ready to help financing the design work for electronics and speaker parts. The idea is that you pre-order the speaker and issue an advance payment. As a compensation you will get a 20% discount on the speaker‘s price and – if you agree - your name will be put on the speaker’s back plate in the „project supporter“ section. If you do not like the speaker once you hear it, we will refund your advance payment in full.
The retail price of the speaker is planned to be in the Swiss Francs 15’000 to 20’000 range for a complete system. It will be an active speaker, so the price includes amplifiers as well. Your advance payment should be Swiss Francs 8’000 or more. If you are interested in more information I invite you do answer this email and let me know.
INT204 interface now at higher speeds
The INT204 interface unit and all the Weiss D/A Converters which have the USB/DSD interface built in now support the following additional sampling frequencies:
- DSD128 (twice the speed of the DSD64).
- 352.8 kHz and 384 kHz PCM sampling frequencies. These frequencies get converted to 176.4 kHz and 192 kHz respectively.
Upgrading existing INT204 units or USB/DSD interface cards will be done at Weiss Engineering.
