IPC and ER4P IMHO both err on the warm side than neutral, though only slightly. I can't imagine the combination could be "刺耳" as IPC sounds quite smooth, and ER4P is rather soft compared to 4S or even 4B.
As for "淡", to me no, not at all; U.E's 5 Pro certainly can be overall more exciting and therefore a better match, but LZ's preference is 崇尚古典和小编制室内乐、轻音乐,其次流行,无视摇滚。喜爱耐听的中高频,低频要不要均可.
If anything, I think ER4P is not balanced and flat in response at all even for the mid-to-upper range. But then IPC does match well with ER4P -- the combination offers a slightly warm, quite fast and clear sound, with accurate bass -- which is not bass-head's love, but also not on the side of "cool". "Dry" it may be. Try it yourself! Although ER4P does perform much better under a amp.
IPC is not iPod photo (the generation that sounds most neutral and flat), and ER4P is different from ER4S/B, I simply can't imagine why people would say 刺耳 and 淡 whenever they see "iPod" and "ER4".
You have to try the combination of different version of those players and earbuds, as they are very different! For example, I wouldn't say iPod nano 2G or iPod Touch 1G matches well with ER4P: the former too thin/bright/dry and later too soft.
One more point: iPod is the de facto standard, and you are simply risking when buying other brands. The operation, UI and software by Creative is ... (*&#.
Plus, Creative also produces iPod dock.
