許多人對有源音箱的概念仍流於專業錄音室，樣子醜陋，聲音平淡無味的聯想裏。（BM的專業系列是KS Digital)
事實上高檔有源音箱的外型及音色絕對可以成為家中亮麗風景，帶來極致音樂享受。

"Backes & Müller, German makers of active loudspeakers dating back to 1979, have a huge fan base. Though active loudspeakers have not caught the imagination of audiophiles here in the states they've gained a loyal following in Europe. Believe it or not, this room was one of the most packed at the show. I was fortunate enough to accept an invitation to the Backes & Müller factory in Saarbrücken a few weeks prior to the Munich show. Just in case you're wondering what was so interesting about my visit. Finally, got an opportunity to hear the Backes & Müller $500k BM 100 reference active loudspeaker. This most unusual transducer easily represents one of the greatest loudspeakers I have ever encountered.

上面的是BM8，這才是BM6，用上下兩個中音以針對樓底低的空間，最便宜的BM3也要七八萬，BM6在十萬頭。

有源比無源好就是
1.分別用適當動力後級去推動高中低單元，無源只用一部後級，不可能有效控制各個單元，要用單聲道後級再分別推高中低才有滿意效果，
2.BM高檔系列用DSP及感應器去調控各個單元，務求單元震動等如輸入的音頻訊號，無源只靠阻抗接收音頻訊號，基本上沒有改錯機制，而Back EMF是無源的一大問題。

除用戶外，在德國只有三處地方可聽到，德國以外，只有在香港能聽到。
