I own both modded Plugs and Sportapros. For sound quality it's sort of a tossup between the two. The Sportapros sound "higher energy", more like a pair of loudspeakers. I use them mainly for running or other active use. They will block out outside noise, but only if you turn them up loud which is not a safe thing to do.
The Plugs are more detailed, simply due to the transducer-in-ear-canal design. They do need to be modded pretty extensively to be worth using, but like was mentioned here, all the mods are no-brainers and will take less than an hour total. I keep my Plugs plus an extra set of pre-holed (is that a word?) earplugs in the tiny blue pouch they came in. It's easily small enough to throw into a bookbag or stuff into a pocket. They isolate tremendously well after modding.< >If you want isolation and portability over anything else, you can't go wrong with the Plug. If you're willing to sacrifice either of these a bit to get best sound, look elsewhere.
