For over 40 years, Bowers & Wilkins’ flagship 801 loudspeakers have been used in Abbey Road Studios as reference monitors to help world-famous artists and talented engineers create some of the most important music and film scores ever recorded.

This pair of Nautilus 801 loudspeakers was first delivered to Abbey Road Studios in 2000 and were used in two of the most renowned spaces in the building, Studio Two and Studio Three, up until 2019.

As a result, the very first time many of music’s most influential artists heard their new recordings being played back anywhere, it was being played back on these exact loudspeakers. Simply put, these Nautilus 801 loudspeakers have made an instrumental contribution to the iconic role that Abbey Road Studios has played in shaping modern recorded music.

Now for the first time ever, this pair of iconic reference monitors is available for sale to a private buyer, giving you the chance to take home a unique piece of recorded music history.

Terms and conditions:

• The winning bid is final and non-retractable.
• All funds payable must be paid directly to Teenage Cancer Trust prior to the loudspeakers being released.
• Teenage Cancer Trust or Bowers & Wilkins cannot offer a refund or return.
• The winning bidder will receive the speakers within three weeks of the auction conclusion.
• The Nautilus 801 have been tested for functionality but have been used in a professional recording studio environment for almost 20 years. As a result, they are sold as seen.
• As such, Bowers & Wilkins cannot guarantee that in the event of a failure to any component parts, an effective repair is possible, due to the age of the loudspeakers and the availability of replacement component parts.
• Delivery and cost of delivery for the loudspeakers will be covered by Bowers & Wilkins to a UK address only. Any costs incurred for overseas shipment will be required to be paid in advance of the loudspeakers being released. A quote for shipment will be provided in advance to the buyer.
